Request and reserve seats in advance
Everyone has a different idea of the perfect seat, which is why most airlines let you choose your own. It may be free or extra, depending on your or the airlines circumstances.
Most airlines allow you to request your seat soon after you have completed your online booking. To ensure you have the best opportunity of requesting your preferred seat it is extremely important that you contact the airline as soon as possible.
Changes and refunds
The airline cannot guarantee that your seat is reserved because there may be an aircraft change for operational, safety or security reasons, even after you have boarded the aircraft
Airlines sometimes switch the aircraft type close to the departure date due to load factors and maintenance. When these changes are made, pre-reserved seats are re-assigned and you could lose the seat you so carefully selected. In addition, airlines may release seats that were previously not available for assignment.
How much does it cost?
This option is free on a lot of airlines, there is usually only a charge if you are requesting a seat with extra legroom, on flexible and semi flexible tickets, if you require disability assistance (in some circumstances) or if you are travelling in large groups. On hand baggage only fares, choosing your seat is usually always extra. You will be able to find out the costs of choosing your seats on the airline that you’re flying with website.
