Where can we take you?

Melbourne - Further Afield

South Yarra is the neighbourhood - south of the river - where the pace of life is calmer by day and livelier by night. The area’s chief highlights are its glorious Botanic Gardens, with their programme of promenade theatre performances in the summer, its glitzy fashion stores along Toorak and Chapel Streets and its lively clubs and bars.

To the north of the city, the Woodlands Historic Park is a nature reserve containing ancient woodlands, a historic homestead and a petting zoo. A great spot for a summer’s afternoon.

Victoria’s dramatic coastline makes for a memorable drive out from the city. Head to Port Philip Bay, for its famous Scenic Drive and the Mornington Peninsula’s bays, villages, surfing spots and peaceful headlands. There’s great dining and shopping at the resorts of Sorrento and Portsea.

The Great Ocean Road, in southern Victoria, is famous for the 12 Apostles - wind and wave carved rocky stumps. But, along the road’s length, there’s much to see inland as well - including the lovely national park of Otway.

Wine tasting in the Yarra Valley makes for an interesting day trip. Head to the vineyards of Innocent Bystander, in Healesville, or try the wineries around Rutherglen.

The Hanging Rock Recreation Reserve is where the spooky film Picnic at Hanging Rock was set. It’s an atmospheric location, complete with walking trails, picnic spots and, at Daylesford, wonderfully invigorating day spas.

The charming Dandedong mountain ranges, just 40 kilometres from Melbourne, are a patchwork of rolling hills, lush valleys and historic villages. Ancient forests, rushing streams and parks make the region a must for outdoor sports fans, mountain bikers and hikers.
