North Vietnam

The capital of Hanoi is the second largest city in Vietnam. Hanoi is a quaint city with busy markets, quiet cafés and many architectural relics. It is known as one of the few Asian capitals to retain its old-world charm while undergoing rapid modernisation. It is often referred to as “city of lakes”, due to its large number of natural lakes.

Sapa is a sleepy town in the Hoang Lien Son Mountains. This rural town is a popular base for trekking in the mountains. Tourists can experience the culture and customs of the local hill tribes through tours of their villages.

Ha Long Bay
Situated in North Vietnam, Ha Long Bay is a 120-kilometre stretch of coastline. This area is one of the most naturally beautiful in Vietnam. Ha Long Bay has thousands of jungle-covered islands, which form an impressive seascape of limestone pillars. Many of the islands have caves, grottoes and lakes to explore.

Central Vietnam

Hoi An
The picturesque town of Hoi An was once an important south-east Asian trading post. The town features an interesting mix of eastern and western architecture, including Chinese temples and French-colonial homes. Considered the culinary capital of Vietnam, Ho An is a great place to sample Vietnam's street food.

Hue was discovered by the first king of the Nguyen Dynasty in 1802. It was the capital of Vietnam until 1945.

Hue is home to a large complex of monuments and ruins, including royal residences and tombs, flag towers, temples and a library. Amongst the ruins is the iconic Noon Gate of the imperial city; used exclusively by the royal family and their servants. Other attractions include the tombs of emperors Minh Mang and Tu Duc.

South Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is the largest city in Reunified Vietnam. Modern-day Ho Chi Minh offers a blend of historic and modern attractions, such as temples and museums.
