Kenya - Sightseeing

One of the main attractions in Kenya has to be the safari. As the original safari holiday destination, tourists have been travelling to Kenya for years in search of the spectacular wildlife, in particular the Big Five. The Big Five includes the African elephant, rhinoceros, lion, leopard and Cape buffalos; tourists can expect to see these magnificent creatures, plus giraffes and zebras up close and personal in their natural habitat. The main game parks in Kenya are Amboseli, Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Aberdare, Samburu and Tsavo.

The Maasai Mara is one of the most famous and best game parks in Africa. The annual breathtaking wildebeest and zebra migration takes place within the park and is a must-see if you are visiting between June and August.

160 miles from Nairobi is the Amboseli National Park, Kenya’s second most popular game park. Beautifully situated at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro the Amboseli National Park offers excellent opportunities to see Kenya’s wildest animals.

Lake Nakuru is the ideal location for bird watching safaris. This beautiful location boasts spectacular views of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley and sights of Africa’s famous wildlife.

Kenya is home to some of the most pristine and beautiful beaches. While visiting Kenya, why not make a worthwhile trip to Mombasa’s South Coast, or Malindi and Watamu where you can relax in paradise on white sandy beaches.

Highlands and Mountains

Kenya offers some breathtaking and picturesque scenery, especially around the highland and mountain areas. Superb views of Mount Kilimanjaro can be obtained from the Amboseli game park and Mont Longonot is a must-see on the shores of Lake Naivasha.

Kenya has many vast lakes teaming with wildlife, exotic birds and natural wonders. See thousands of flamingos as they flock around the banks for the Lake Nakuru or marvel at the spouting geysers and spurting steams in the geothermal pools at Lake Bogoria. Other Lakes that are worth a visit include Lake Naivasha, Lake Victoria, Lake Magadi and Lake Elementeita.
